Two Consultancies, One Mission — Clear, Practical HR for Growing Businesses
You may know us as The People Consultancy, or as Clear HR.
Together, we're Clear People.
Clear People was born from two founders who kept arriving at the same conclusion from different directions: small and medium-sized businesses deserve HR support that's genuinely useful — not generic policies, not corporate jargon, not a service that only shows up when something's already gone wrong.
Emily's story starts with burnout. After years in HR leadership roles, Emily founded The People Consultancy in the wake of closing a previous business following significant burnout in 2018. That experience shaped everything about how she works now: HR delivered without judgement, meeting business owners exactly where they are, and support that's built around people, not paperwork for its own sake.
Caroline built Clear HR on the same principle from a different angle — that businesses grow faster and more sustainably when their people practices are solid from day one, not bolted on once problems appear.
When Emily and Caroline joined forces, Clear People was the natural result: a consultancy that combines two proven track records, one shared philosophy, and a genuine commitment to making HR feel human again.
What hasn't changed is how we work. Whether it's a single urgent issue or an ongoing fractional partnership, we bring the same practical, direct, no-nonsense approach — the kind you'd want from someone who's actually been in the room for the hard conversations, not just written about them.
We're based in West Sussex and work with businesses across Hampshire, East Sussex and the wider UK, on-site or remote.

Emily Perry
FOUNDER
Emily founded The People Consultancy after over 20 years in HR, including senior in-house leadership roles, before returning to consultancy on her own terms. CIPD-qualified, she specialises in employment law, workplace investigations, disciplinaries, and redundancy processes — the kind of work that requires both technical precision and a genuinely human touch. Emily built Clear People on a simple belief: HR should meet business owners where they are, without judgement or jargon. -

Caroline Daniel
FOUNDER
Caroline brings 20 years of HR experience to Clear People, having built Clear HR on the principle that strong people practices should be part of a business's foundations, not an afterthought. Together with Emily, Caroline helped shape Clear People into the practical, partnership-led consultancy it is today.

Jamie-Lee Jones
HR ADVISOR
Jamie-Lee joined Clear People as a part-time HR Advisor, supporting clients with day-to-day HR queries, documentation and ongoing people support. Jamie is an expert HR generalist and loves supporting clients on the entire employee lifecycle whether thats a tricky disciplinary or restructure, to a recruitment process and onboarding. -

Abbie Rose

Abbie supports Clear People's clients with all aspects of HR support. Abbie has worked in start ups, scale ups as well as established HR teams and brings a wealth of knowledge and hands on experience. -

Laura House
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS EXPERT
Laura leads on employee relations at Clear People, supporting clients through the situations that matter most — disciplinaries, grievances, workplace investigations and complex ER cases. She's known for combining thorough, fair process with clear, calm communication, helping business owners handle difficult conversations with confidence.

Gina Wilson
Gina keeps Clear People running behind the scenes, managing business operations and supporting Emily directly as her PA. From scheduling and client coordination to internal processes, Gina is often the first point of contact and the reason everything runs smoothly
